Update on Jay

Praise God!!!! Jay received a heart and double lung transplant from the same donor on Sunday and is doing very well. He is still not out of the woods completely, but he has received the heart and lungs without rejection so far. His family asks that we continue to pray for his kidneys. His kidney's were severely weakened by the illness and now have the tremendous job of filtering all the anti-rejections medications, so please pray that God will heal his kidneys.

The miracles that have transpired over the past week have been so extraordinary and so awesome. It has really shown me that God is in control of everything and that we need to walk by faith and not by sight. Not one event that has lead Jay to this place could have ever been foreseen by human eyes---Thank you, Lord for your mercy.

Miracle #1
On Sunday morning, news was received that there was ONE lung available that matched Jay's rare blood type and that he needed this lung just to survive the day. However, he started running a fever and the surgery was postponed.
Miracle #2
Because of the postponement, they later received a heart and 2 lungs from the same donor and Jay's fever immediately broke and he was available for the transplant. Remember that rare blood type? 2 possible transplants in one day--Praise God. He took that fever and used it to delay until the full transplant could be performed and Jay's weakened body would only have to undergo ONE surgery.
Miracle #3
The surgeon found a problem with the superior vena cava and was able to repair it. If this problem was known before the surgery, they might have ruled him out as a candidate.
Miracle #4
I was told that Jay's parents went around and prayed with all the other families in the ICU for their family members, while their own son was in surgery. What a kind, loving, and compassionate heart to have.

Matthew 6:33-34--But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
