Kim tagged me, so here is my very unsophisticated, nontechnical (I can't figure out how to link her blog), response.
You’re feeling: very nontechnical
To your left: bay windows and lots of lightening outside (I wonder if I should move away from them?)
On your mind: Conversation with my brother on Experiencing God
Last meal included: a piece of pizza and cake made by Jenn (Shared food doesn't have calories, right?)
You sometimes find it hard to: give God control of my curriculum
The weather: rainy and lightening outside (Praise God for the rain)
Something you have a collection of: boogers and dust bunnies under the coffee table (just kidding--we don't have a coffee table) I have just alarmed all future visitors to my house. I don't collect anything.
A smell that cheers you up: my husband's cologne (yummy!)
A smell that can ruin your mood: I'm with Kim on the vomit or rotten eggs (Shoowee!)
How long since you last shaved: this morning
The current state of your hair: down and straight, in need of a good brushing
The largest item on your desk/workspace (not computer): Saxon math answer key
Your skill with chopsticks: in my own mind--not too bad, in reality--I could get really thin
Which section you head for first in a bookstore: home improvement or Children's section
Something you’re craving: big, huge bowl of ice cream and some more of Jenn's cake
Your general thoughts on the presidential race: scary stuff
How many times have you been hospitalized this year: none, Praise God
Favorite place to go for a quiet moment: I don't understand the question, what is a quiet moment?
You’ve always secretly thought you’d be a good: doctor
Something that freaks you out a little: snakes, spiders and yellow jackets (recently stung by one-ouch!)
Something you’ve eaten too much of lately: Today, that would be cake and pizza
You have never: kept weight off
You never want to: DENY MY GOD

Thankful for the little things
As a mother, friend, wife, daughter, and sister it is easy to take those we love for granted. I find that it is so much easier to comment on the negative than the positive. Positive behavior is easily overlooked because it does not irritate or inconvenience me, but anything negative is like a neon sign flashing over my head that demands to be acknowledged.
So, last night I prayed to God to help me be more like Him. Help me to have mercy and grace to those I love and those that I encounter each day. Let my heart see the good and my mouth speak the good, so that I can encourage and edify those around me in Christ. After my prayer, I still could not speak nice things, so I picked up a pen and wrote letters to my kids to tell them thank you for all the little things they do each day. The things that I do not even acknowledge as good are noticed and important to me, just as they are important to me. I left their notes at their bedroom doors, so they would find them in the morning.
The response was overwhelming! There were tears and expressions of gratitude, hugs and kisses all day long, nice deeds done for "no particular reason", and kind words spoken to each other. They were so thankful. That little expression of love meant so much to them. It made me realize that we can have a huge impact on those around us with the smallest gesture of kindness.
Thought for the day: Think of this small gesture and the impact on a child's heart, now think of the huge sacrifice that Christ made for us and the impact it should have on our hearts. Is your heart different because of Christ?

EXPELLED
http://www.expelledthemovie.com
I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS MOVIE COMING OUT AND I ENCOURAGE ALL CHRISTIANS TO SEE IT.
IF WE UNITE AND SHOW HOLLYWOOD THAT WE ARE A LARGE ENOUGH AUDIENCE TO MAKE A CRATER IN TICKET SALES, MAYBE THEY WILL RECONSIDER THEIR POSITION ON SOME OF THE ISSUES.
WE MUST BE A STRONG VOICE, WE MUST SHOW PEOPLE HOW IMPORTANT OUR GOD AND OUR FAITH IS TO US. WE CANNOT SIT IDLE IN THE BACKGROUND AND NOT DO WHAT CHRIST HAS COMMANDED US ---WITNESS. LET US WITNESS THIS WEEK TO HOLLYWOOD BY OUR DEFENSE OF INTELLIGENT DESIGN.
PSALM 19:1-2--THE HEAVENS DECLARE THE GLORY OF GOD; THE SKIES PROCLAIM THE WORK OF HIS HANDS. DAY AFTER DAY THEY POUR FORTH SPEECH; NIGHT AFTER NIGHT THEY DISPLAY KNOWLEDGE.
ROMANS 1:18--THE WRATH OF GOD IS BEING REVEALED FROM HEAVEN AGAINST ALL THE GODLESSNESS AND WICKEDNESS OF MEN WHO SUPPRESS THE TRUTH BY THEIR WICKEDNESS, SINCE WHAT MAY BE KNOW ABOUT GOD IS PLAIN TO THEM, BECAUSE GOD HAS MADE IT PLAIN TO THEM.
